Transporting patients calls for equipment that assist the operators as well as keeping the patient safe. FERNO manufactures a range of patient evacuation and transportation chairs for differing needs and situations, from dedicated evacuation chairs, simple lightweight carry chairs, powered track chairs that allow patients to be moved both up and down stairs without the need to lift, to specialist bariatric chairs for the planned transfer of larger size patients.
FERNO offers four different categories of chair:
Saver Safe Evacuation chair, for the evacuation of people from buildings in an emergency
The lightweight Compact chair range, both small in size and low in weight, making them manoeuverable in tight spaces but strong enough to be able to move patients up to 200 kg in weight (31.5 stone). Available as a standard carry chair (Compact 1 & 2) and also 2 track chairs models for moving patients downstairs with no lifting, one with a detachable track (Compact 2 Track) and the other with a fixed stowable track ( Compact 5 Track)
The EZ-Glide and Venice ranges of chairs, based on a larger and more robust chair frame, with models incorporating a manual track system for safely moving patients downstairs, to powered track systems (EZ Glide/Venice PowerTraxx) which move patients up and down stairs without ever the need to lift or exert any noteable effort. With a maximum safe working load limit of up to 230 kgs (36 stones)
For specialist patient transfers, the non-folding fixed-frame, EZ Glide LBS range is designed to accommodate and move larger physical-size patients. Available as a manual track chair (EZ Glide LBS), for moving patients downstairs up to a maximum 318 kg (50 stone) body mass or a powered version (EZGlide LBS PowerTraxx) for repatriation of patients, moving both up and downstairs up to a max weight of 227 kg (35.5 stone)
